The birth of our Beloved صلي الله عليه و سلم

Posted by Abd Al Mustafa on Friday 30th March, 2007

milad-un-nabihouse.gifThere has come to you a messenger from among yourselves, grievous to him is your suffering, anxious is he over you and towards the believers he is kind and compassionate. (Al-Quran, 9:128)

The birth of our Master, the noble Messenger, occurred on the forenoon ( **or in the early morning according to another view/opinion**) of Monday, 12th of Rabī’u-l’Awwal, which coincided with the 20th or 21st of April. That is why April rains have always been blessed, refreshing and a cause of prosperity. On the eve of our Master’s birth, the Ka’ba split in two.

The Quraysh were terrified by this occurrence and offered many explanations of it. Some of them suggested that it was due to the fact that the venerable Āmina’s father had gone to the eternal world that night. For Wahb ibn ‘Abd Manāf, the maternal grandfather of the venerable Messenger, was a revered figure among the Arabs.

News of his death was spreading in Mecca on the eve of the Prophet’s birth. While Quraysh were involved in these discussions, they heard a voice from…………click here to read on

Miraculous Events Attending the Blessed Prophet’s Birth

muhammad.gifNot only the idols in the Ka’ba but all the idols in the world fell on their faces and were broken on the eve of our Master’s birth. On that night the fires of the Magians were totally extinguished for the first time in a thousand years, leaving not a trace of heat. Lake Sava disappeared into the earth leaving not a trace of water behind. It seemed as though a sudden heatware had made it all evaporate.

Nothing but dust arose when people walked across it.Fourteen of the twenty-two battlements of Chosroes’ palace collapsed. The throne of Anushirwan, the Persian emperor, also collapsed that night. A terrible fear possessed him and when morning came, he assembled all his astrologers, diviners and soothsayers. “I had a terrible dream last night.” he said. “Interpret it for me.” When the soothsayers asked him about what he had seen, Anushirwan replied, “I shall not tell you what I saw. You must tell me, otherwise I shall not believe your interpretation.” They told him that this was beyond their power and said: “There is a diviner in Bahrayn, by the name of Rabir ibn Rabi’a; ask him.”Anushirwan then sent one of his men, called ‘Abd al-Masih, to this diviner, who had not a single bone in his body.

They called him “Flat Man” because he always lay on a board. He could not sit up, having no bones at all apart from his skull. He was very old. That Flat Man was a scholar who had studied all the heavenly scriptures. He was also an expert in the science of divination.Once each year they would put him upon a sheet of gold and take him out to hear him give his predictions for the coming year. They would write down his prophecies and commit them to memory. The “Flat Man” Interprets the Emperor’s Dream

Durud Sharif

Posted by Abd Al Mustafa on Wednesday 28th March, 2007

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim…..muhammad.gifallah.gifAllah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet: O you who believe! Send blessings on him, and salute him (send salutations on him) with the utmost respect (Qur’an 33:56).

The Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam came out one day and joy could be seen in his face. He said, “Jibril Alaihis Salam came to me and said, ‘Are you not pleased, O Muhammad, that none of your community sends blessings on you but that I bless them ten times, and none of your community prays for peace on you, but that I pray it for them ten times”.

The Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam said, “None of you believes until I am more beloved to him than himself and what he possesses and his son and father and all people.” In a hadith, ‘Umar said, “O Messenger of Allah, you are more beloved to me than everything except my self which is between my sides.” So he Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam said to him, “You will not be a believer until I am more beloved to you than your self.” So ‘Umar said, “By He who revealed the Book to you, you are more beloved to me than my self.” So the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “Now, ‘Umar, your iman is complete”.

The Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam said, “My intercession will be available on the Day of Rising to anyone who says, after hearing the adhan, ‘O Allah! Lord of this perfect call and established prayer, give Muhammad ‘al-wasila’ and superiority and raise him up to the praiseworthy station which You promised him”.

Abu Sulayman ad-Darani said, “If someone wants to ask Allah for a need, he should begin with the prayer (durud) on the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, then ask Allah for his need, and then seal it with the prayer (durud) on the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam. Allah will accept the two prayers, and is too generous to omit what is between the two”.The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam said, “If someone has a pressing need, he should increase the prayer (durud) on me, for it removes cares, griefs and sorrows, and it increases provision and fulfils needs”.

The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam said, “It is enough miserliness in a man that when I am mentioned in his presence, he does not call down blessing on me.

The Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam said, “Whoever forgets the prayer on me has missed the Path of the Garden.” By “forgetting”, he meant (leaving out) omission. As the omitter misses the Path of the Garden, the one who blesses him travels to the Garden.

It is mentioned in some traditions that written on the leg of the Throne is, “If someone yearns for Me, I show mercy to him. If someone asks of Me, I give to him. If someone draws near to me by the prayer (durud) on Muhammad (s.a.w.), I forgive him his wrong actions, even if they were as much as the froth of the sea”.

The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam said, “Pray for blessing for me a lot every Friday.” He, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, said, “If anyone of my community says one prayer (durud) on me, ten good actions are written down for him and ten bad actions are effaced from him.”

It is related that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “If someone sends blessings on me 100 times on Friday, he will be forgiven the mistakes of 80 years.”

The Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam said, “If someone asks for blessing on me 100 times on Friday, when the Day of Resurrection comes, he will come with a light, and had that light been divided among all of creation, it would have been enough for them.”

The Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam said, “People will come to the Fountain (Al-Kauthar) on the Day of Resurrection whom I will only recognise by the great amount that they asked for blessings for me.”The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “If someone blesses me in a book, the angels do not cease to bless him as long as my name is in that book.”

The Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam was asked, “When will I be a believer (or in another variant, a sincere believer)?” He answered, “When you love Allah.” It was asked, “And when will I love Allah?” He replied, “When you love His Messenger.” It was said, “And when will I love His Messenger?” He said, “When you follow his Path, apply his sunna, love with his love and hate with his hate, and choose friends those he befriends and choose enemies by his enmity.

It was asked of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, “What do you think is the state of those who pray for blessing on you who are not with you or who will come after you?”, He said “I hear the prayer (durud) of the people of my love and I know them. The prayer of other than them is presented to me”.
