Saudies wake up on Moon Issues

Posted by Abd Al Mustafa on Thursday 30th April, 2009

The Minister of Justice said that the provisions of Islamic Shariaa Law cannot in any way contradict scientific facts. He added “If something becomes apparent, then it may be wrongly understood; scientific facts reveal the meaning of texts. This shows the difference between knowledge and ignorance.”

Alhamdulillah wa Shukr Allah! A positive step forward.

Shariah & Tariqah

Posted by Abd Al Mustafa on Friday 24th April, 2009

Hazrat Junaid Baghdadi Radi Allahu `anhu, was asked about some people who were proud of the fact that by following command of Shariah they had become “Joined” (Wasil) and they did not need Shariah any more, then he replied “They are telling the truth they have become Wasil (Joined) but unto What? unto Hell.”

He added:

“The thieves and adulterers are better than the people of such faith. If I live for a thousand years I shall neither reduce any obligation and Wajibats (expedients) nor shall I without any excuse of Shariah reduce the number of Nawafil (supplementary prayers) and Musta-habat (preferable religious acts) which I have fixed for myself. So, for the people all other ways except the way of the Holy Prophet sall Allahu `alayhi wa sallam, are closed… on

The April’s Fool “boogy man”

Posted by Abd Al Mustafa on Tuesday 7th April, 2009

Muslims are circulating a fabrication on the Internet trying to claim things which can easily be proven incorrect by Christians and non-Muslims who rejoice in watching us play the part of Everyday Fools.

The most recent story says that Christians could not conquer the Muslims there and sent spies to discover why. According to the story, they found that the Muslims there were on the ‘Taqwah’ (God Fearing and Pious) of Islam. Then the story says the Christians sent in alcohol and cigarettes which the Muslims used and lost their ‘Taqwah’ and then the Christians defeated the Muslims on April first and began celebrating ‘April Fool’s Day’ ever since. This story is not correct in many aspects.

The Hadith : “whoever visits my grave”

Posted by Abd Al Mustafa on Tuesday 7th April, 2009

The h.adīth “Whoever visits my grave, my intercession will be guaranteed for him” is a fair (h.asan) narration as concluded by Imām Abū al-H. asanāt al-Lacknawī and his editor ‘Abd al-Fattāh. Abū Ghudda in the latter’s notes on the Muwat.t. a’ in Muh.ammad ibn al-H. asan’s narration (chapter 49: On theProphet’s  grave) as well as Shaykh Mah.mūd Mamdūh. ,although some early scholars declared it sound (s.ah.īh.) such as Ibn al-Sakan in al-Sunan al-S.ih.āh. and ‘Abd al-H.aqq al-Ishbīlī in al-Ah.kām, followed by Shaykh al-Islām al-Taqī al-Subkī in Shifā’ al-Siqām in view of the totality of the chains. Other h.adīth scholars who considered it authentic are Ibn H.ajar’s student the h.adīth Master al-Sakhāwī, the h.adīth Master of Madīna al-Samhūdī and Imām Ibn H.ajar al-Haytamī in al-Jawhar fī Ziyārat al-Qabr al-Mukarram. Al-Ghassāni (d. 682) did not include it in his recension of al-Dāraqut.nī’s weak narrations entitled Takhrīj al-Ahādīth al-D. i‘āf min Sunan al-Dāraqut.nī. Some late scholars, beginning with Ibn Taymiyya, are undecided whether to grade this h.adīth weak or forged.

A return to purity in creed

Posted by Abd Al Mustafa on Tuesday 7th April, 2009

Know that the unequivocal truth, over which there is no dispute between those possessing inner discernment, is [in] the approach of the Salaf (madhhab al-Salaf)—meaning the approach of the Companions and the Successors. Now, let me illustrate that along with its proofs, I proceed.

The reality of the approach of the Salaf—which is the truth in our view—is that any layperson who confronts one of these controversial ambiguous Hadiths is obliged to conform to seven matters: [1] Exoneration; [2] Affirmation; [3] Acknowledgement of one’s inability; [4] Silence; [5] Abstinence; [6] Restraint; and then [7] Yielding to the People of Knowledge.

Abstaining From Meddling with the Stated Words (al-Imsak)

This is an obligation for the general masses to confine themselves to the words of these reports and to abstainfrom meddling with them in six different ways: [1] By explaining (tafsir); [2] By interpreting figuratively (ta’wil); [3] By altering (tasrif); [4] By making logical assumptions (tafri’) [5] By joining what is separated (jam’), and [6] By separating what is joined together (tafriq).
